The Deviant will play at least one song - maybe two or three! Depends on crowd reaction, so come check it out! |

| The President of the United States is elected not by popular vote, but by an electoral college. Electors have to be picked by a party, and pledge to support that party's candidate. The members of the Legislature pick the electors, and the American people have no direct effect on them. In fact, the American people have no way of finding out who the electors are. In 1992, 19% of voting Americans chose Ross Perot as their candidate for the Oval Office. That's practically 1 out of every 5 people who cast a ballot in the popular election. Guess how many votes Mr. Perot received from the electoral college. Not a single one. Do YOU think the will of the American people is served by the electoral college system? |
